Brilliant for improviung your shooting
By: Julian talbot on 10 July 2024The Mantis X3 is an exceptional product that I've used extensively for my IPSC training. I've used it for dry fire, live fire, and CO2 training, and the X3 delivers on all fronts. It's a cutting-edge piece of kit that collects thousands of data points per second, analyzing your shooting in real-time. One-of-a-Kind Training System The X3 is truly one of a kind, offering unparalleled insights into your shooting technique. It helps you master your marksmanship by improving crucial aspects such as trigger pull, grip, and overall accuracy. This device's versatility is impressive, working seamlessly with both pistols and rifles. Train Anywhere, Anytime One of the standout features of the Mantis X3 is its adaptability. You can train at home or on the range, making it a perfect companion for those days when weather conditions are less than ideal. The ability to continue honing your skills regardless of external conditions is a huge advantage. User-Friendly App The Mantis X3 app is exceptionally user-friendly, providing precise and detailed feedback on your performance. It shows exactly what you're doing wrong—or right—by giving you an analysis of what happens between the trigger press and the projectile's exit from the barrel. The app detects even the slightest movement, allowing you to see precisely what happened with each shot, identify any faults, and get suggestions for remedial actions. Detailed Analysis and Immediate Feedback I've used the X3 to analyze various aspects of my shooting, such as trigger control, transitions, and drawing from the holster. The drills keep you engaged and focused on quality repetitions with immediate feedback. The X3 tracks the pistol's motion, which you can view as an image or a movie, offering a detailed perspective on your technique. A Minor Limitation The only limitation I've encountered with the X3 is its inability to track my splits. This is not really the fault of the device, as the pistol doesn't stop moving when firing doubles with splits under .20 seconds. However, it still provides invaluable data on the pistol's motion (as an image or video), which enhances the overall training experience. If the next iteration can include an acoustic pickup or accelerometer to pick up those second shots, I'd give it 6 out of 5 stars :-) Conclusion Mantis X3 is a fantastic training aid and a brilliant use of technology. It has significantly improved my training routine and provided insights that otherwise would be hard to gain. This is a must-have tool if you're serious about improving your marksmanship.

Mantis X3
By: David Crook on 7 May 2021So far, I have only used the mantis X3 for dry fire but have no doubt that it will work as advertised for live fire also. It's GREAT! I used it on my IPSC Open gun and on a chassis rifle. The app is very user friendly and shows exactly what you're doing wrong - or right! It gives you an analysis of what happens between you pressing the trigger and the exit of the projectile from the barrel - detecting even the slightest movement - then showing you exactly what happened with a string of shots; what faults may have been apparent; and suggests remedial action. And you can use it on those windy, rainy days that you can't get to the range to do live fire (how good is that?)! so far, I've put a couple of hundred dry shots through the Mantis X and I can see the potential for really improving my scores whether using a handgun or a rifle. I recommend it highly as something that should be part of your essential equipment list!
